| "What choice do I have?" Is often the frustrated rhetorical question
we dread hearing or saying. The phrase conjures up either a condemning
or sympathetic response to the conflicts and helpless situations humans
find themselves in. Financial distress, closed doors for education,
employment, even clubs or societies that could make a difference in life
quality or future opportunities.
Don't confuse your destiny with your
eventual career or what you will do to make a living!!!
Your purpose is designed by God and He had
this purpose before he designed you to fulfill it. Your purpose is
brought out on purpose it will not happen accidentally. All of your
skills need to serve your higher purpose in life and equip you to
worship and serve God's intentions or design for your life with all your
heart, mind and soul.
Keeping options open in order to limit the possibility of being
forced into a situation where you are out of choices begins very early
in life. Some would even argue that the very family situation you are
born into assigns your range or potential for success or failure.
It is impossible to say how learning to play a musical instrument
will benefit a child's future. Especially one who has little or no
aptitude for music. We can point out potential future events where this
knowledge changes their choices and opens up possibilities that would
other wise be closed. Knowledge, even limited knowledge, in our
weaknesses compliment our strengths and callings. The future business
professional may find employment in the music industry due to their
ability to appreciate talent and converse in a knowledgeable manner.
Future teachers or counselors can research and educate others about the
impact music has on the mind. Finally, those who never find their career
paths crossing the music industry could very well find themselves
raising a child protégée or simply appreciating a concert while enjoying
the company of people they would not otherwise find themselves
socializing with.
Whether the curriculum includes instruction in the fine arts,
advanced math or special science courses, is only part of the equation.
Could the current model for educational curriculum provide not only
variety, but personalized depth. Destiny Based Education coursework
balances itself in a way that all students are exposed to an elevated
minimum in broader subject areas while allowing students to choose
electives of interests for depth in each subject. Students as young as
12 are Individuality

Your destiny only serves a purpose on the
journey to your destination.
It's all about the journey....Goals for the
journey 1. Live in the now.-
DBE is not based on finishing first or the most worksheets or
assignments.
2. Know yourself- Know what
your gifts talents and interests are and know what you are not good at.
Understand how this guides and limits your journey The curriculum
addresses this ideal in two ways. The core required classes that give
students that little "taste" of everything before elective choices are
made and individualized ability level assigned curriculum.
3. Enjoy the work of your hands
Find joy in the doing that comes in between the joy of
achievement or the sense of accomplishment. DBE curriculum requires
regular participation and that participation is rewarded.
4. Learn to learn and teach yourself-
your personal who what when where why and how's for
learning.
5. The influence or absence of one person-Will
your impact be limited because your educators didn't equip for
your individual needs and destiny in mind? One person can make all the
difference. Lead your own life don't fear following your own drum and
don't fear leading others who are lost.
6.Learn from others experience.
History ahs a way of repeating itself save yourself the
experience of reinventing the wheel. |
