The Process

The entrance exam is taken online just as all of your coursework will be administered online. You will be emailed an ID and password to enter the testing center upon completion of your application form. You may take the test at your convenience  after you have received your password. Unlike most private institutions, proficiency or high performance is not what we are looking for in the entrance exam. High ability or huge deficiencies are simply used as a beginning measure of  placement in the program. With beginning  placement determined we are then able to  ensure that we do not overtax our faculty and staff by assigning an uneven number of students to their rolls.

The next portion of the entrance process is the interview. This is conducted online in GardenScapes. You may arrange a time and date for your interview when the student and at least one parent is available after completing your exam. Questions will focus on your application information and will not contain "surprise" questions. This is also an opportunity for you to ask more specific questions about the school, camp and the education process at Garden Schools.

Who is admitted

Priority of admission is always given to Destiny Based Homeschoolers, then to those who have homeschooled with other types of curriculum, next are those transferring from private traditional education, and finally to those leaving public institutions. There is typically a waiting list, at times an extensive waiting period. Well made applications and an obvious flexible approach to a new education model is key to ensuring timely consideration and acceptance for enrollment.

When admittance is declined

While Garden Schools strives never to turn away any student who wishes to attend, there are certain conditions that must be in place. Some of the reasons a family might be denied admission include; obvious incompatibility in educational philosophy between the family and Garden Schools or unrealistic expectations of what can or should be accomplished in a reasonable time frame.
