The Senior Year Program is for Destiny Based Homeschoolers who want their child to have a Garden Schools diploma and the Mountainside Camp Senior year experience that includes exit exams, college test prep, ACT and or SAT exams, as well as, help with college applications and understanding the higher degree process. There is a senior dinner/prom and formal graduation ceremony not to mention several weeks of fun, games and classes. The best 3 weeks of a Garden students life!
Students arrive at Mountainside ready to learn, excited and anticipating graduation, bittersweet with the knowledge that this is their last stay at Mountainside Camp. For some their entire family will join them for the three week stay. Most arrive alone to enjoy the company of their camp time friends, email buddies and chartroom confidants for the first two and half weeks. Family and friends begin arriving for the last two or three nights. Award banquets and other events are piled into a fantastic custom schedule for our honored family guests including plenty of free time to enjoy full access of all the camps facilities easily enjoyed by everyone!

You may also choose to go for four partial time quarters if you have a job or are taking early college classes like dual enrolled courses.
Applying
Simply check the senior program box on the application for first consideration for acceptance. Camp is from the second week in May to the last week in May each year. Memorial weekend is the culmination of the camp events with Saturday evening as a formal graduation dance and dinner (prom). Sunday is church services and awards. Monday is graduation in the afternoon. Staying Monday night is optional. Many will opt to hold a private party in one of the many rentable halls, tents or club rooms. Others will choose to return home where family and friends unable to attend camp formalities will celebrate locally. You will need formal attire, all the usual expenses associated with graduation such as cap and gown, invitations etc. You may have travel expenses to consider and room rental for family who wish to attend graduation.

FAQ
Are the two exclusive? Can you finish your senior year, but not attend the camp? Can you attend the camp as a homeschooler and not receive a Garden Schools Diploma?
All graduates are required to show up for the senior experience camp at Mountainside, in person for exit exams and testing. Only graduates of Garden Schools are permitted to attend Senior camp.

Can other homeschoolers attend the Senior program or do you have to have used DBE for all of your homeschooling time?
Only DBE coursework is transferable. With fewer credits than are required you are not eligible to graduate. You must have completed the previous 6 years (18 full load quarters) worth of assignments in order to apply to the Senior year program. Some students are able to complete these assignments in less time than the allotted 6 years. You may file a form to request detailed information for your personal situation like curriculum maps and expected graduation date.

Is there an age limit?
All age groups may apply. You may be asked to room alone or with some one of a similar age during your stay at Mountainside camp however, no age group will be discriminated against. Much younger students (under15) may be asked to consider staying in a cabin with their family.
